Hey Friends!
In May, I joined TikTok to honor Mental Health Awareness Month. I shared personal stories, helpful tools, and honestly? I wasn’t sure how it would go.
But by June, I knew I wanted to go even deeper. So I launched a new daily video series: Mental Health Trivia Month
Every single day, I’ve been sharing short videos packed with trivia, science, and quick tools you can actually use. I'm also posting the content on YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn!
Here’s What You Might’ve Missed Last Week
Soft Kitty & Comfort Songs
Trivia: What was the origin of “Soft Kitty” from The Big Bang Theory—and why do songs like that soothe us? Turns out, calming lyrics and repetitive melodies can lower cortisol and soothe the nervous system. So yes, Sheldon was onto something.
Emotional Support Animals
Trivia: Can any pet be an emotional support animal? Yes—with documentation. And it’s not about paperwork—it’s about connection. Animals help regulate mood, reduce anxiety, and even lower blood pressure.
Breathing the Right Way
Trivia: True or False—Breathing techniques don’t work for everyone. Answer: True. But when done properly (lengthening the exhale), they do calm the nervous system. The trick is doing it right.
Feelings vs. Emotions
Trivia: Are feelings and emotions the same thing? Nope. Emotions are automatic; feelings are what we name after we interpret them. Knowing the difference = better emotional control.
Imposter Syndrome
Trivia: Which group experiences imposter syndrome the most? Spoiler: High achievers. (Sound familiar?) The video dives into why that is and what to do when your inner critic gets loud.
Distanced Self-Talk
Trivia: Does calling yourself by name actually help reduce stress? YES. It gives you emotional distance and a clearer head. “Tami, breathe. You’ve done this before.” Try it—it’s less weird than it sounds.
Keep the Conversation Going!
Which of these topics helped you most this week? Drop a comment below or send me a message—I love hearing your stories. And if you want downloadable quote cards, images, or deep-dive guides for any of these posts, just let me know!
Love & Hugs,
Tami
