.
I’m Dr. Tami West, here every week to bring you tips on living a life that brings you mental and emotional wellbeing.
Well, this will be our last chat in 2019. The last time in my podcast closet until 2020.
It’s been such a fun experience to be with you every week for almost a year! I decided to end our year together with an anniversary story. I’ve told the story a thousand times: about 4 am, December 22nd, three days before Christmas, my house burned down in the middle of the night. When we awoke, the entire attic/roof and about 1/3 of the house was already engulfed. My husband at the time and my 3 kids, 2,4, and 6, climbed out of our bedroom window and that was that. Our dog escaped too.
Christmas feels different this year. I’m not sure why. Not sure if it has anything to do with it being 25 yrs since that night. But it’s just different. My family has decided not to buy big gifts for each other but rather to donate and serve. I’m not patting myself on the back, but it just seems like we don’t do enough of that. And I want it to begin a life of more serving.
So today, I’m going to read you the letter that I wrote to the Tennessean, the newspaper in Nashville. I also promised pictures of the fire, the hand-written note from my niece, and the letter - they're all here (some are below)! I think everything you need to know to understand will be there (Click here to listen).
And that’s our time for today. I hope Christmas is different for you too and that it is very Merry. Please remember to focus on the meaning, to forgive, to show grace, to let go of perfectionism & guilt, to spend time with people whoever they are, to serve, and to love! Please pass the show link along to a friend or two and subscribe, download, and review wherever you are listening. And head over to tamiwest.com to get info if you’d like me to speak at your next event and also you’ll find the promised pictures. And I’d love for you to follow me on Facebook, my primary social media home at facebook.com/tamiwestseminars.
Thank you so much for listening and growing our special community!
Finally, remembering our mental & emotional wellbeing goal during this holiday season, I hope that you will renew your thoughts daily, adopt empowering language that prevents verbal harm to yourself and others, and make positive mental and emotional choices on a daily basis.
And until 2020, Consider Yourself Hugged 😘🤗
