Welcome friends to Consider Yourself Hugged Episode 30. Today’s Hug: Legacy - A teacher, a student, and an unexpected lesson with Mary Smith. (Click here to listen.)
I’m Dr. Tami West, here every week to bring you tips on living a life that brings you mental and emotional wellbeing.
Mary and I got to know each other really well recently! And she shared a very special story of becoming aware of, processing, and really understanding that we all leave a legacy – hopefully it’s always positive, but probably it’s going to sometimes be negative. Today she’ll tell us how she uses that story. I would gush for the next 30 minutes about how awesome she is, but I think you’ll get that from our chat. So here's her bio and then just jump right in and listen! (Click here to do that).
Mary Smith is a 28 year educator, a Zig Ziglar Legacy Certified Professional Education Coach, Trainer, and Speaker; a DISC Human Behavior Consultant and a published author. She has published 4 titles including "Texas 5th Grade Science Study Guide", "Texas 4th Grade Science Study Guide", "Texas 5th Grade Science STAAR Prep Guide" and An Educator’s Legacy, Impact and Reflection Journal. She will publish her next book, Alias Mary Smith in early 2020.
Her Points to Consider:
1. Look for the lesson, especially if you caused it.
2. Focus on positives that were there or can come from it.
3. Remember it’s only a season.
