Show Notes CYH Episode #47: Today's Hug - Life Lessons From Disney Marathon

Welcome friends to Consider Yourself Hugged episode 46. Today’s FIRST hug for the New Year: Communicating in 2020: 10 tips to be your best self (Click here or pic to listen).

I’m Dr. Tami West, here every week to bring you tips on living a life that brings you mental and emotional wellbeing.

This week's episode is definitely "off the cuff!" My oldest son, Jamie (everyone else calls him James, but I'm his mom so I get to call him whatever I want 😁) ran his first marathon yesterday at Disney World. It was so much harder for him and more emotional for me than either of us expected. (Click here to listen to our 1st chat, Turning Points #10 and Click here for our 2nd chat, Rest, Emotions, Choices & More)

I don't have points or 1,2,3 points today - just an inspirational conversation that I wanted to have quickly, before the thoughts and emotions start to fade. (Click here to read Jamie's Facebook post with more great insights! and his Twitter feed is https://twitter.com/jimmyeatcarbs.) Today is about control, lack of control, growing, overcoming, persevering, and overall being inspired!

One of the most exciting moments came after we left the start line and literally RAN to catch the monorail to be able to see him in Magic Kingdom. I think he said there were 25,000 people, and although we had a tracker to watch his pace, it was only an estimate. It was entirely possible we wouldn't see him, but thank goodness did! He waves at us in the video.

After we saw him there we didn't see him again until the finish line. We didn't capture a video there, but the sounds at the beginning of the podcast come from the finish line.

And that’s our time for today. Remember this month, I’ll draw from comments on the show notes and give away a copy of PowerPhrases.

I’m also excited to remind you that in 2020 I’m expanding my communication coaching. I’ll be doing topics like relational communication, workplace communication, and giving presentations whether to 3 people or 3,000 people. I’m starting with a free webinar “Giving Killer Presentations” in February. I’m only accepting 10 people because it’ll be super interactive, so check out the class here.

As always, Please pass the show link along to a friend or two and subscribe, download, and review wherever you are listening. And look around here at tamiwest.com to get info if you’d like me to speak at your next event and also you’ll find the promised pictures. And I’d love for you to follow me on Facebook, my primary social media home at facebook.com/tamiwestseminars.

Thank you so much for listening and growing our special community!

I pray that each day you remember to love, to serve, to feel worthy, to grow, to connect, to change, and to be the best person you can be for yourself AND for the other humans in your world!

And until next time, Consider Yourself Hugged 😘🤗
